Curious about the new symbols in the corners of my pieces?
As an artist, is it important for me to be able to sign my work, unfortunately I have never much liked my signature and even if I should try to do a nicer, fancier one, the pressure of it being permanently on my work would be cause for a nervous signature. Taking a note from many other artists, I’ve decided to create a stamp with which I can “sign” my work. No more nervous jitters, obsessing over perfection, or worries of inconsistency! All the images you see here now are embedded with a digital version of my design, and should you see a print in person it will be hand stamped.
I haven’t actually made the physical stamp yet, since I plan on doing it by hand, So below, and on the rest of the images here on my blog, is my design I created in Adobe Illustrator based off of my sketches. When I finish making the “real” one, I’ll be sure to share my results will all of you out there in the ether!

The Patron Saints of Forgotten Photographs
As an avid antique loiterer and thrift store hunter, I often come across people’s old photographs that they are selling. When ever I find them I’m always very excited! I find them to be bizarre looks into people’s life, as a photographer I have always been fascinated in peeking into other people’s lives. I was the child who, on Halloween, was more excited to see in strangers homes than the candy. On the other side, they all have a deep feeling of sadness. Whomever these people are in the photographs, their memories are not just being thrown away but monetized.
While looking through one of these stacks of old photographs I found a beautiful portrait of a woman, by not means perfect, technically, but it was very moving. This inspired an ongoing series of portraits of women. stylized to emulate the look and style of old photographs. The women I photograph are ment to have the same hunting impact of the portrait I found. These women are The Patron Saints of Forgotten Photographs.
